Hi,

I am using Polypone to play long loops (up to 6 mins) of playback.
In that term, I am not using it for typical sound instrument, but for playing recordings of music.
I am tuning every sample to be on the correct pitch (i.e. "Correction Cents"). I change the pitch until it sounds good.

The samples seem to lose the tuning when I restart the software.

I am using Linux (Ubuntu Studio 20.04.3 LTS).

Anybody know why the tuning is lost?

install a wave editor, adjust the pitch in there and save your .wav files.
Polyphone only saves .sf2 files

Hi,

I don't want to change the pitch of the WAV at all. My Samples are recorded at the proper pitch in the first place.
I want Polyphone to play the original wav without changing the pitch whenever I click a key on the MIDI keyboard.

My first problem is that Polyphone play random pitch once I assign the "root key" to a sample.
So, to resolve it, I tune the pitch of every sample with "Correction\Cents" and Save.

However (my second problem), once I restart the software and load the Saved SF2, the tuned pitch of the sample is lost.
I can see on the interface the Correction\Cents value I configured on each sample but when I hit the MIDI key I can hear it is completely out of tune. Eventually I have to tune the pitch of every sample again and again whenever I restart the software. This turn the whole thing unusable.
It looks like a bug to me.

Basically, I would be very happy if I could set samples on Polyphone to play the original WAV without manipulating the pitch at all.

(BTW, I am using the Ubuntu Studio distribution with Jack).

Thanks! :)

"I don't want to change the pitch of the WAV at all. My Samples are recorded at the proper pitch in the first place."
so what are you tuning for? tuning is changeing the pitch.
if you map a sample to the middleCkey (60) and assign Rootkey 60, you will hear the genuine pitch of the sample on that key.
if you map that same sample to the key a semitone higher and assign Rootkey 61, you will also hear the genuine pitch of the sample on that key.
and so on....
if you map a sample to to one ot more octaves and set Scale to 0 you will hear the genuine pitch of that sample on all those octaves, no Rootkey needed.
